Welcome to the new website of Player Forward Interactive!
This website will serve as a personal blog to capture the journey of what I’m developing during the next couple of years.
Currently the roadmap is mainly Raid Ops: VR, which at the time of writing this, I’m extremely eager to start distributing this work I have to the private testers on the Discord server.
There are a lot of idea’s I would like to develop over the course of the upcoming years, and I want to do it at a professional level while also documenting my work simultaneously and (hopefully) inspire other people to look into developing too!
Who is behind Player Forward Interactive?
Player Forward Interactive is an indie game development company, meaning this is a one-man team for the moment.
I say for the moment, because I would love to work with people later when everything is more established and comfortable!
I am Delano, otherwise online known as Sleepy, and I have been developing for the past 17 years on and off.
I’ve had a super crazy interest in game development from the start, but I did not know how to start or work on things myself entirely and I did start with private servers when I was really young. This introduced me to PHP, which is used for developing web applications.
I did this off and on and started developing programs for the computer itself and plugins for other games like Unturned where I at one point created a death messages plugin which is still being used to this day (albeit completely reworked by other people because mine was obsolete of course)
I first started Unity in 2014, but the only thing I did was make an island and create a playable character that was able to move, but other than that I never really did anything major at all, all the way until 2023.
During all these years from now until 2023, when I started developing Raid Ops: VR as my first (big) project, I have had a huge amount of time thinking about what my ideal game would’ve been like, and since I’ve gotten a VR headset back in 2018, I’ve always wanted to make a game that is a mix of all of my favorite games and more!
Why “Player Forward Interactive”?
My love for certain types of games really stemmed from the amount of passion developers had in their projects but also their community.
I have always been one for the people, I’ve used to run communities on Discord where the community makes.. the community, and this counts for literally everything!
All my communities had their own ways of making it revolve around the people in the community and Player Forward Interactive is nothing short of that. I want to make games where the player is the centralized point what it’s about and really try to understand the player on a deeper level, and their needs!
What’s next?
I’d love to invite you to the Raid Ops: VR Discord server, this Discord server serves as a hub for all things regarding Raid Ops: VR, and is currently our only Discord community where we can communicate together.
While Raid Ops: VR is the only game I’m developing alongside experimenting and testing different games, I’d like to keep that as the centralized point where people can communicate together or with me and the moderation team.
I’d love to see you there!
I am very excited to see what the future holds for Player Forward Interactive and Raid Ops: VR!
Thank you for reading!
